As vitamin C helps in production of white blood cells which protect the body against infection,it is the main reason people include it in their diet. It act as an antioxidant and help strengthen the skin barrier. The best fruit you can put in your basket is oranges which contain vitamin C in good amount. Eating one or two daily is required for your immune system these time as immunity cannot be strengthened in one or two days. It takes a period of time to boost it up. You can also go for other options for vitamin C intake e.g. Broccoli, lemon, sprouts, papaya, pineapple, spinach, etc.

Anti viral tea can be very important for our health these days. They help us in boosting our immune system. You can easily prepare this as normally it's ingredients are always available in kitchen(specially in Indian homes). There are so many ways to prepare herbal tea(also known as kaadhaa in Indian homes). Simplest way is to chop some garlic, basil leaves(Tulsi)ginger and boil them in water. You can also add honey, ajwain, cumin seeds(jeera),etc. to make your tea more effective. All these have anti viral and anti bacterial properties which help in fighting the foreign guests in your body. You can also opt for lemon tea and green tea as researchs claimed that polyphenols present in green tea helps in fighting infections.

The key player in immune health is the gut which is often exposed to toxins from food and microbes. Adding probiotics to your diet can help in better absorption of nutrients. The good intestinal bacteria present in them help us for healthier gut. It also helps in killing off harmful bacteria in the gut thus supporting the better immune system.. Studies show that those who take probiotics regularly have lower chances of getting sick or caught up with cold. And if you have cold then it may help reduce the severity of your symptoms and helps in faster recovery. Yogurt (Dahi) is the best and easily available source of probiotics
